Gas Leak | Fiddler Drive Box 33-2

On 11/04/2010 United Hook & Ladder Company 33 was dispatched To Fiddler Drive for a gas leak. Arrived on scene and found Columbia Gas already on scene. The tech reported a leak below the shut off valve to the rear of the structure. He also stated that there was an odor in the house. The house was monitored and found to have a low reading. The remaining homes were evacuated. A 5" supply line was laid from the hydrant on the corner to the scene with 1 1 3/4" hose line stretched for exposure protection and dissipation of the gas. Columbia Gas was assisted with what ever they needed. Once the gas was secured the residences were rechecked and found to be ok. No other FD services were needed and the box was placed in service.
