Vehicle Accident - Box 33-5 | 400 Block of Abbottstown Pike

The members of United Hook and Ladder 33 were gathered for the departments monthly meeting when the tones dropped for a vehicle accident with a car off the roadway into a ditch. Assistant Chief 33 (B. Martin) arrived on scene, assuming command, advising he had one passenger vehicle off the roadway into a tree and pole. EMS crews arrived and began packaging the patient for transport to a area trauma center, while Rescue 33's crew of firefighters stabilized the Ford Explorer. By- standers as well as firefighter Ken Deatrick Jr. comforted the drivers pet, Katie, a German Shepard who was frightened from all the excitment. East Berlin ambulance and Hanover Hospitals Medic 51 assisted on the call.
