House struck by lightening Box 33-1 | 134 Springfield Drive

Thursday evening around 22:30 hours a ferocious thunder storm came through the area dumping several inches of water and offering up a massive dispaly of lightening. The pre alert tone was hit for Box 33-1 for a house struck by lightening with a attic fire. Chief 33 arrived on location advising two story single family home with light smoke showing from second floor. Engine crews searched the house with a thermal imaging camera, while truck crews opened up the exterior wall due to radiant heat showing from the exterior. Crews found small fire and burnt area in the wall. Crews operated under heavy rain and lightening all around the area. The incident cleared in less than a hour. It was a very busy few hours throughout Adams county as several box alarms were put out for various storm related calls.
